bad news

My roommate showed me how to watch Downton Abbey online.  Goodbye grades and sleep, hello Mary, Matthew, Violet, Isobel, Lord Grantham, Lady Grantham, Ethel, and all of the rest of the Crawleys.

fall again

Today was cold.  It wasn't winter cold, but I was wearing my thickest cardigan and using my umbrella, but I was shivering as a trekked through the hurricane force wind and pelting rain to get to physiology. This semester seems like it is flying by.  Although there are always those days that seem to drag on for a week, I feel like the semester just started but then I look at the calendar and it's the middle of October.

On a separate note, this pretty lady is tying the knot next week!

Yay for love and fall!!

campus at seven thirty in the morning

This is what happened last night

Me: I think I'm going to watch the season premiere of Revenge right now.
Brain: You should probably do your physiology quiz first.
Me: I'll do my quiz right after the show is over.  It will be perfect.

50 minutes later

Opened my backpack to grab my calculator->nothin.

Me: It's okay, I'll just go to bed right now(9:45) and get up and go to campus.  Everything will be fine.
Brain: You should've listened to me.
Me: Calm down.  I'm going to get ready for bed right now.

3 minutes later

Roommate Mehlanie: Courtney, come look at this horrible picture I just found!

55 Minutes later(after discussing many a things with roommate)

Finally in bed.

In case anyone is wondering, there is no one on campus at 7:30 in the morning except for the amazing custodial crew.  It's really quiet and perfect for studying.

california in august

My beautiful cousin Amanda got married a month and a half ago in the fabulous Newport Beach Temple!  It was so fun to fly down in time to help with the preparations for the big day and then to participate!  Unfortunately, I was VERY bad about taking photos, so the following are all that I have:

The sunrise the first morning at 6AM when I got up to exercise with my momma.

Food preparations

The night before the big day, my cousin and I decided to swim a little(without getting our hair wet, of course) Obviously, we decided to try out some synchronized swimming.

The setup for the reception at "the grove."  It was so beautiful-the weather cooled off just in time for the reception to start(as soon as we were done with all the hard work, of course) and the lights were perfect for in the dim twilight.

I mentioned above that I flew down to Arizona, but luckily, I got to ride home with these pretty ladies!  It was a ten hour party on the 15!

already procrastinating

My first test of the semester closes tomorrow, and I just spent an hour on Pinterest looking at the humor pins.  They were SO funny, but now I'm stressed again because I haven't studied yet.  Oh pinterest, if only there were some way to make money by pinning.  One good thing that came from my pinning spree this evening(night?) was eggless chocolate chip cookie dough!  I have been wanting cookie dough for days, so I made some.  It's not as good as the real stuff, but it worked well enough.  Good thing I'll have it in my fridge for the rest of the week.  Also, on a totally separate note, I haven't been to the gym in a week.  Go ahead and continue judging me.

highlights from my day

1. Whilst taking pictures of campus, I traipsed across one of the grassy knolls by the JSB/Benson fishbowl area only to find as I descended the small hill a swampy wetland hidden by the grass.  Luckily, I was wearing my sandals, so I was able to make the long, muddy footed, trek to the Eyring Science Center(where I decided would be the safest/least busy bathroom) to use hundreds, if not thousands, of paper towels to clean my foot/shoe.

2. I saw a professor running to class.  At least I am fairly positive it was a professor, he looked older and was carrying a briefcase, and looked like he could have a PhD.

3. Avoid the bathrooms in the RB.  They're just sub-par compared to the rest of campus.

(This is a picture of me 'studying'-let's be honest, it's from the first week of school.)
